Our trip out west

Teagan and I headed out west to Kelowna, BC on Thursday morning for my Nana's memorial service. Despite a day that began at 5:30 AM Eastern and didn't end until 9 PM Pacific (yes, midnight Eastern) Teagan was a trooper. We had a direct flight and sat with my Dad, Ryan, and Lulu. Then a stop at Papa's new condo and eventually out for dinner at a beautiful Kelowna winery. Teagan was pretty tuckered out by then so she cuddled with granpda alot but no complaining!

Friday was the internment and the memorial service, where I gave the eulogy. I managed to hold it together and say my piece so that was good. Ryan also spoke and we complemented each other quite well I think (I got the touchy-feely memories and he tackled the history of the woman). Then a reception and then a catered family dinner back at Papa's condo building and then swimming! Another long day!

Teagan couldn't get enough of Papa and his poodle Ebony and I think they did a good job of cheering him up.

Friday night we got a late phone call changing our flight home so we had to scramble a bit but we got on an early-morning flight connecting through Vancouver and got home ok. Teagan was so wiped out she slept almost the whole Vancouver-Toronto leg.

The boys did pretty well at home with Brian. I know Duncan had a couple of rough nights and a sick day in there so I know they were happy to have me back - even as exhausted and emotional as I was feeling!

I can't wait to go back under happier circumstances... it was nice to see Papa, Penny, Viv, and everyone else and I know they enjoyed Teagan and would love the boys. Hopefully soon.
