Well, it's week 3 and we're settled into our back-to-school groove, even if our groove included missing Caden's bus today and having to drive him to school in the rain. Everyone likes their school, their classmates (for the most part), and their teachers so all is well.
A typical week looks like this...
Monday - library day at school for Teagan and Caden, weekend homework due, Duncan and I grocery shop in the morning, Duncan skating in the afternoons and I volunteer on ice (starting October), Running Club (T) after school, Beavers (C) in the evening
Tuesday - Duncan goes to school so we leave home 30 minutes earlier and get home 30 minutes later, Guides (T) in the evening
Wednesday - T french spelling test, T hot lunch day, Duncan and I do housework in the morning and try to fit in a playdate for him, Duncan skating in the afternoons and I volunteer on ice (starting October), Running Club (T), pick up our CSA box (only 2 more weeks, so sad), Dance (T) in the evening.
Thursday - Duncan goes to school but no evening activities
Friday - Duncan goes to school, hot lunch for Caden, we all keel over from exhaustion when we get home.
Saturday - Dance (2 classes T, 1 for C), hockey practice (C)
Sunday - Hockey game (C).
And that's a bare minimum schedule - many weeks there is also a PTA meeting (two schools), school open house, after school playdate, or something. I write everyone on the calendar in a different colour and honestly, the month of October hasn't started yet and it looks like the rainbow exploded on it.
Ah well, at least everyone is thrilled with their activity choices!
