What we're up to...

We survived recital which went very well. Lots of family and friends came to see the kids dance and they had both improved so much over last year!

The kids LOVE recital weekend. We were there early to claim a "Boys change room" this year since it is the first year Caden has had costume changes. Teagan was stuck with them with Caden and his little friends (although she promptly migrated to the competitive changeroom where her besties were set up).

We were so early we were among the first in the theatre!

In between rehearsal and recital, we went out to dinner with friends. Here is my little gentleman escorting Duncan's best friend M (look at those curlers!!!!) out of Hamilton Place.

LOTS of family and friends came to see the kids dance and brought flowers!

The kids looked GREAT on stage.

Here are some backstage shots from the studio director's husband (C's ballet, C's hip hop, T's jazz, and finale).

Duncan is doing teeball and soccer this summer. He's really enjoying the soccer and scores multiple goals each game (in the correct net even!) but is still finding his way in teeball. Or rather, he's great if he's "pitcher" (he doesn't pitch, just stands on the mound), catcher, or first base but in any other position gets bored and spins around, digs in the dirt, or wears his glove as a hat. Look at this cuteness though!!

Caden is doing soccer and summer hockey (as goalie) and is liking both quite a bit.

Teagan is doing tumbling right now (for dance) and has lots of camp fun - Guide camp and acting camp - planned for the summer.

Caden and Teagan both auditioned for competitive dance on Tuesday of last week and are anxiously awaiting their results. Keep your fingers crossed!! Teagan auditioned last year and did not get in and has worked SO HARD this year. I am hoping that the lesson of hard work = getting what you want works out for us! Teagan also tried out for cheerleading team at school and the junior band. If she gets into everything she'll be a busy bee in the fall!
