Dwarf planets?

Well, you learn something new every day. When I was a kid, there were 9 planets. I LOVED space. I knew everything about space. I even went to Space Camp. Twice. Once in the US and once in Russia. Seriously!

And yet, when I went to the W.J. McCallion planetarium in the basement of the Physics building on the McMaster University campus on Tuesday night with Teagan's Brownie Troup, I learned that there are now 8 planets and 3 dwarf planets. I knew Pluto was no longer considered a planet but how could I have missed the discovery of Eris and Ceris!?

I'm out of the loop!

Luckily, Teagan loved the planetarium as much as I always have so I now have a little minion to keep me company in my love of all things astronomical. This week's mission - to find a book of Greek myths so we can find the constellations related to the myths.
