Pumpkins and costumes, the Hallowe'en gear up...

Today, I was a rockstar mom. You know the day. You  might be just an ok employee that day, and the house might be filthy, but your kids think you are the best thing since sliced bread? That's what my kids told me today was.

It wasn't even because I let them try a new kind of pizza called "bacon cheeseburger" which looked so good until we all realized after the first bite that there was MUSTARD in the spaghetti sauce (cheeseburger? mustard? makes sense I guess!). They ate it anyway.

And not because the kids next door came over for an hour before school this morning to play, which always elicits great delight.

But because I did this:

and this:

And made these pants to complete a last-minute change of costume plans by a certain small someone who shall remain nameless using only an old tea towel and a nearly outgrown pair of hand-me-down track pants:

I also let Caden cut the hem of a nearly outgrown white dress shirt to tatters for his pirate costume and being ALLOWED to cut clothes was great.

Teagan, this year, decided to do her OWN pumpkin and she did a WONDERFUL job!

Seriously, I'm thrilled because last Hallowe'en was such a bust, we're really looking forward to this year!

Friday - costume parties at school for everyone
Saturday - Hallowe'en party with friends
Sunday - Trick or Treat

I'm hopeful it's going to be perfect.
