The maiden voyage
For Christmas, Caden got an awesome remote control helicopter from Uncle Rob and Jen. See how cute and little it is? It specifically says "designed for indoor use". Clearly said designer has never met Caden (Note: Caden should be included on a toy testing council as soon as possible, if it is possible to break or find new uses for toys, he is your man!).
So Brian got it out, set it up and succesfully got it to fly a few feet and touch down again before handing the controls to Caden. Caden, of course, pushed the lever ALL THE WAY to the top instantly, causing the helicopter to take off wildly and hit the ceiling. Of course, Brian then said "STOP!". Can you imagine what happened next????
SHOCKINGLY, Caden DID stop (if you have ever spent 5 minutes with him, you know my mantra of "Stop means stop now, stop forever, please!"). He stopped so completely, the helicopter of course crashed from the ceiling to the floor in one long fall. It's wheel broke off promptly. It won't fly anymore because it can't take off with only one wheel for some reason having to do with physics I can't explain to a 6 year old to his satisfaction.
Brian was, understandably, annoyed by this. Caden was devastated that he was annoyed because he HAD stopped for once and look where it got him?
Luckily for everyone, this particular toy comes with a repair kit (maybe they HAVE met Caden) so a new wheel will be procurred and more clear instructions on gentle flying will be given before we try again.

Oh, man, Heather -- we have gone through a few of those. Each time, it has broken on the firt flight.
Poor Caden must have been bummed!
