Snow day!

Yesterday was a snow day. Not only were busses cancelled, but schools were closed. I don't remember that happening here before in all the years we have had kids in school! The best part? There really wasn't THAT much snow! We had a great day out in the snow though and hanging out inside with hot chocolate, hot baths, and friends over too.

First though, we had to shovel!

We shovelled for about an hour and a half. Well actually *I* shovelled for an hour and a half. The kids shovelled for 10 minutes and then went to play in the backyard!

Later, just as we were sitting down to lunch we looked out the window to see that practically the whole neighborhood was out sledding, so as soon as we were done, we went too!

See.... everyone! There were at least 3 other kids from T's class there and lots of their siblings and random strangers.

There were so many kids the kids were just piling on whatever sled they saw first, regardless of who it belonged to and heading out. Big kids helped little kids onto sleds and dragged them back up (or in Caden's case, he PUSHED Molly back up the hill in her inner tube - it took him a good 20 minutes!). They made sled trains and tried to hold together to get to the bottom of the hill. What fun!

We ended up bringing home 3 friends with us when the snow picked up and it got too cold to stay outside. The kids were so entertained that I got to talk on the phone for an entire hour without interuption. Best.plan.ever!

Today, we're back to reality!
