Christmas

Well, it's come and gone for another year. We barely got up any decorations, but there was a tree and presents and family and everyone had fun so all is well.

A quick recap in pictures!

We finally got the tree up less than a week before Christmas. Doesn't it look nice in the living room (and note that there are almost no boxes in there? Progress!).

Michelle, Bill, and the kids arrived from England so we've been spending as many free minutes as they have with them (they have lots of other family and friends to see too!). We even took the kids ice skating!

We made cookies (just one kind, the rest I bought at a fundraiser bake sale). Lazy but boy are they yummy!

On Christmas Eve, Santa's elves always bring our kids new pjs but this year nobody needed more pjs so they got robes instead. They were pleased (I was worried they'd be miffed we'd messed with their tradition *phew*)

Christmas morning it was just the 5 of us and grandpa. A very peaceful day. We'd planned to visit residents of a local nursing home that wouldn't otherwise get visitors but we all had terrible colds and were not welcome. Another kind family took our place. Hopefully we can go next year. The kids got lots of wonderful presents and this year Teagan didn't get any toys! She got new bedding, clothes, books, accessories for her new room, jewelry, hermit crabs, a lava lamp... everything she asked for and not 1 toy. It's a sad day because our baby is growing up!

Boxing day we hosted the extended family. We had 18 people here for dinner and I can't tell you how much easier that is in the new house than the old. Look, we all fit in the family room at once!

And since Christmas? More visiting, more unpacking, and lots of playing. Just the way a winter vacation should be!
