The good ol' hockey game!

Duncan's been practicing hockey 4 times a week since October (2 different teams) and 2 weeks ago he got to play his first game! Now it's 4 and 5 year olds so the rules are made simple. No icing, no offside, no changing on the fly. There is an A line (older/better players) and a B line for each team and the As play each other and the Bs play each other. There are always more than 6 kids on the ice for each team and they all scramble for the puck at the same time. So, free for all. Coaches stay on the ice to keep things moving along (i.e. when all the kids fall on the ice or kids fall and can't get back up). It's cute cute cute cute cute!

Can you tell how excited Duncan is?

Huddle with coach Peter! Look at all those sweet boys on one knee listening closely! They LOVE Peter. (Duncan's other coach, Reg, is equally revered by the boys and girls he works with... you've got to be something special to coach little kids in  ice skates I tell you!)

Shake hands before the game!

And they are off and playing. Mob the puck!

Here's Duncan taking his turn as "goalie". Just like his brother, he's a big fan of this job.
