B is the new A?

I confess that I don't understand the Ontario provincial guidelines for grading students anymore. I get that B is "at grade level" and A is "above grade level". Got it. So how, if you get 100% on each spelling test all year, do you get a B in spelling? And if you can multiply while your peers are struggling with 2-digit addition, how do you get a B in math? And how, when you're completely tone deaf (but really enthusiastic) do you get a B+ in music? Anyone?

Oh well. I'm delighted to report I have a straight-B kid which appears to be the new straight-A kid of the future. She brought her creative writing grade up a full grade level. Her classroom behaviour for paying attention and finishing work on time also came up a full grade level. What a great kid.

JK kids don't get report cards so Caden didn't get one. I think he gets one second semester next year. This year he's learned to read simple words and do simple addition. He's learned about appropriate school behaviour. The important things in life!
