My dishwasher is STILL broken. It's been broken since early January! A series of technicians has basically admitted to being baffled and randomly replaced various parts (after failing to convince me it was somehow my fault the dishwasher was not washing dishes), each of which I had to wait for, then use the dishwasher for a few days, and then wait for yet another service call.
So the second-to-last tech promised me to declare it unfixable if his last fix didn't work. It didn't. They sent someone else from a different branch office. On purpose, I'm sure. He wants to replace the main motor. I've been waiting WEEKS for the part to come in now.
When they called to reschedule tomorrow's appointment due to the delayed part I lost it. Burst into tears right there on the phone. Turns out, that gets you transferred to customer service. He offered me a compensation package IF the dishwasher is fixed by this next repair. Which I still have to wait for. Given the 6 months I've now had to hand wash dishes and the multiple times I've had to sit around and wait for a technician, the offered package was pretty insulting and I told them so. Still... it's theoretically in my file and apparently if I phone back after I agree that the dishwasher is fixed (hahahaha) they'll send us a nominal gift card and extend our warranty by 6 months. I honestly believe I'll call back and they'll tell me they have no record of our conversation.... but of course it doesn't matter because I am also convinced they have no idea how to fix my dishwasher and that I'm waiting for these parts just so I can wait some more and argue with some more people about getting a new one.
I.Hate.Sears.
Which is really too bad because we have bought ALL of our appliances there for years and it's a shame they'd rather lose our business than replace the stupid defective dishwasher after jerking me around for 6 months.
The end.
