Tonight was night 1 of Teagan's dance rehearsal. She performed her jazz and tap numbers and was in the cute little finale. I could not get over how much growth she's had this year in her dancing - onstage she was not looking at her friends but smiling and looking into the audience, she was using a nice straight back and arms, and was right with the beat. Of course, being a lefty, she still always starts with the wrong arm for alot of moves, but year over year, her dancing has grown phenomenally!
Even more, seeing her hang out with her friends all day and out to dinner at the Indian restaurants with MY friends and Jamie and their girls, there is no baby left in my little girl!
If I wanted to give her one gift through her birth to five (or seven) years, it was self confidence. When she was a toddler with an emerging personality, it was clear that, like I had been as a child and teen, she was painfully shy and easily overwhelmed. Well while she's still a little shy, she is confident and friendly and wonderful. I don't think the credit is all to us either, she's just a great kid.
And tomorrow... we get to spend ANOTHER 12 hours in Hamilton Place dancing with my little girl grown big!
