Rocking Relay

We did Relay for Life last night and it was phenomenal. Music, movies, food, fantastic company, and the feeling we were celebrating both those we had lost and those who won their battles. As a team, we raised over $4500 (total tally with the cash donations not yet available) and online donations are open through the end of the weekend. That's pretty good!

We had a team of 10 walkers including Teagan and Lexi (who is 4) and between us, we kept someone on the track for 12 hours straight. Teagan and my Dad walked the first 2-hour shift and the last 2-hour shift. I walked some this morning with my Dad while Teagan was warming up in her sleeping bag cocoon but once she got moving she took over. I also walked with my best friend Sue from 11 PM - 1 AM and we were both delighted to have 2 full hours to chat uninterupted and I did a spell around 4:30 AM when Meaghan and Geoff were flagging and I'd had a few hours of sleep.

Teagan ended up camping out with us and was a trouper. Our tent was right across from the main stage and it was LOUD. She fell asleep around 11 with a reggae band blasting and slept through showings of Hairspray and Horton Hears a Who literally right in front of our tent at top volume.

We had so much fun we'll surely do it again next year!
