A healthy big girl!

Teagan had her 8 year checkup today... she was pronounced in good health, as usual. She was 4'2" and 57 lbs which is apparently about 50th percentile (average) for both.

She is taking her impending birthday very seriously. As of tomorrow she won't legally need to use a booster seat in the car anymore. She has started getting her own breakfast in the mornings and is choosing to try formerly rejected healthy foods again (like strawberries, bananas, and yogurt) because they are good for her. She is trying to learn to stand on her head. She made me read her a book about puberty, just in case. She is learning to write in cursive, because it's pretty. Apparently, being 8 is a BIG.deal.

Also a big deal, she got her ears re-pierced this morning while she and I were out without the boys. She barely even flinched! She had them pierced at 6 and the holes grew in after she insisted I take her earrings out for "a few days" for some minor inflammation about 4 months later... this time she swears she's going to take better care of her ears because she is 8. I'm sure she will. I'll post earring pictures later but right now she's at a friends house practicing standing on her head... of course.
